Help Remember Us Urban Legends RUUL the Summer

We have a generous donor that is going to match up to $100,000 Dollar for Dollar

Its time for Remember Us Urban Legends to RUUL the Summer again. We are excited and blessed to host our FOURTH Hustle and Grow Empowerment Training. This training exposes 40 teens, 13 - 18 to the industries of Landscaping or Hair Braiding. Teens learn history about the industry, how to operate in the industry, next steps if they want to take their learning or career further, and how to start their own business. Hours spent over the summer can be counted towards community service and credit hours for high school graduation. Eligible teens are able to receive their braiding certification. Teens are paid up to $250 per week for nine weeks to help reduce the financial burden of parents over the summer while providing teens with a safe and nurturing environment.

Our training takes a holistic approach through the lens of Social Emotional Learning; cultivating and developing life skills including but not limited to the following areas:

• Understanding trauma and how to respond to their emotions
• Financial literacy
• Sexual Education
• Leadership
• Physical and mental health
• Field trips
• Entrepreneurship
• Bike Rides
• Leadership
• Community Engagement

Hustle and Grow Stats:

Because of the contributions and efforts of YOU; our donors, funders, community members, parents, families, and partners we have been able to achieve this success. However, the work is not done, our teens need us now more than ever. Thanks to the generous support a valuable donor, we are able to match donations dollar for dollar up to $100,000 to continue operating this program.

Every dollar matters and here is a breakdown of some ways your donation will directly impact our teens:

• $25 provide snacks for one day of programming
• $50 provides one teens stipend for one day
• $100 provide supplies, uniforms, and PPE for one teen
• $500 supports transportation for weekly program related activities

If you donate $25 for snacks for one day, we will receive $50 for snacks for two days! We can not do this without you and appreciate every donation no matter how small. Thank you in advance.
